SnakeCity is an everyday activity tracker that turns walking around the city into something you can see, track, and share. Because SnakeCity uses sensitive data like location, steps, routes, and social activity, we want to be clear about what we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and what control you have. This Privacy Policy explains how Something’s There, Inc. collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use SnakeCity, including our website, mobile app, and related services.

Information we collect and how we use it

We collect information you provide directly to us, information generated through your use of SnakeCity, information from your device, and limited information from service providers that help us operate the app. When you create an account, we may collect your email address, username, profile information, authentication details, and any other information you choose to add to your profile. Your profile may include information such as your avatar, “snaking since” date, level, achievements, stats, and other details displayed in the app. If you use social features, we collect information about friendships, leaderboard participation, activity with other users, and other interactions within SnakeCity. If you upload photos, route images, captions, notes, or other content, we collect and store that content so it can be displayed and shared through the app. If you contact us for support, we collect the contents of your communications and any information needed to respond.

SnakeCity may collect movement activity, and related usage information to provide SnakeCity’s core features, including tracking activity, displaying progress, supporting social and competitive experiences, and improving the service. We may also collect information about how the app is used, such as feature interactions and technical performance data, to help maintain, analyze, and enhance SnakeCity. If you choose to enable notifications, we may send updates and reminders related to your activity and use of the app. You can manage permissions and notification settings through your device settings, although some features may not function properly without them.

Sharing and visibility

Some information may be visible to other SnakeCity users depending on the feature and your settings. This may include your username, avatar, profile information, leaderboard rank, achievements, levels, friend status, whether you are currently snaking, and any photos, route images, notes, or other content you choose to share. Activity statistics such as steps, XP, distance, rankings, and progress may also be visible through social and leaderboard features.

We share information with trusted service providers that help us operate, analyze, and improve SnakeCity. These providers may process information on our behalf for hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, notifications, email delivery, and related services.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Service, investigate fraud or security issues, protect the rights or safety of SnakeCity and its users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

Data retention, deletion, and your rights

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide SnakeCity, improve the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the security of the platform. Account information, activity data, and progress information are generally retained while your account remains active unless deleted or anonymized. Analytics and diagnostic information may be retained for a limited period to improve the product. Certain records may be retained longer when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business purposes.

You may request deletion of your account by contacting [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before processing the request. When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal information unless retention is required for legal, safety, security, or legitimate business reasons.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information.
